I didn’t cook up those six words, they fell from the mouth of the Master Himself.
“For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith” (Mk. 11:23).
Jesus said these words in response to the observation His disciples made about a fig tree he had spoken to a day earlier. His words were “No man eat fruit of thee hereafter and forever” The tree withered away from its roots. Then He challenged them to “Have faith in God” or “Have the faith of God” What He meant by that was that they should operate their faith same way God operates His. He pointed at a physical mountain and taught them a valuable lesson “whosoever says to this mountain, be removed and cast into the sea, and he will not be double minded about it which simply means he believes in his heart exactly what he says with his mouth, he shall have whatsoever what he says”
Our words which are products of our conviction can move mountains!
I heard a story of a woman who chose to believe these words of Jesus. There was a hill close to her house which was obstructing her view of a street next to her’s. So she said to that hill “Look here, I command you to be removed” A few weeks after she said these words, a government agency came to remove the hill by breaking the stones and then they constructed a road that linked her street with the next street she had always wanted to see. Jesus said “Whosoever shall say…shall have whatsoever he says” It’s a blank cheque, you can fill in whatsoever you desire because the next verse says “Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them” (Mk. 11:24). Prayer is a type of speaking. Prayer implies that you make a request and there is no greater request than to make a bold proclamation of what you desire. Jesus tells us to pray our desires and then our desires will become tangible realities.
Words are the most powerful things in the whole universe. Everything we see in this physical world was spoken into being by God. Think about that for just a moment. The first chapter of Genesis lets us see this fact. The following phrases were used repeatedly “And God said…” “And God saw…” The firmaments, the trees, the sun, the moon, the bodies of water are all creations of words. Then the concluding verse says “And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good”(Gen. 1:31). Nothing comes into existence without the deployment of words.
A non speaking faith is no faith. Faith pronounces the outcome before its manifestation. Faith looks at impossibilities and declares the emergence of possibilities.
Imagination takes on the garment of manifestation when confession is done with persuasion.
If you are not seeing what you desire, check up on what you are saying. Did you know that you could have prayed about something and your regular negative confessions nullified what you prayed about? Take for instance, someone who prayed for a job or a contract but goes about saying “There are no jobs in the country, contracts are not easy to come by these days…I don’t even know if I will ever get a good job” Such a fellow has cancelled the manifestation to his prayer with his wrong confession. Our confessions must be in sync with our prayer. Wrong confessions don’t have to be necessarily the use of foul or dirty language, they are wrong because they are not in line with God’s Word or what you are believing Him for. If you say something will not work, don’t be surprised when they don’t work. \
Our words form the cornerstones of our lives.
We all ought to consciously observe what we regularly say every time. Don’t be carried away to the point that you forget to pay attention to your words. In fact, you should have a spouse or have friends to whom you are accountable that will call your attention to any wrong confession you utter and they can also help you affirm the right ones.
What do you say at the discouraging moments of your life? What you confess at the ungirded periods of your life usually sets you on a course for victory or defeat. I like what Charles Capps said a while back “It is better not to say anything when you are in a bad situation than to say something that will worsen the situation” The Psalmist said “Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips” (Ps 141:3). A clearer translation puts it this way “LORD, do not let my mouth (speak evil words). Listen to what my lips (are saying)” (Easy English). God only permits what you permit. You are the one that will set a watch on your mouth not God. And you do that by deliberately saying what God says about your situation and consciously refusing to say what your feeling dictates. “A man’s belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled. Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof”
Dear friends, there are no hopeless situations, believers only become hopeless in their imagination and reckless with their confession. Choose to speak right words…words that are in the direction of the desires of your heart “How forcible are right words!…”(Job. 6:25) And guess what? The Psalmist said the word of the Lord is right (Ps. 33:4).
Say these words out loud boldly
I choose to say right words
No corrupt communication proceeds out of my mouth
But that which is good to the use of edifying
And it ministers grace to me and those who hear me
Therefore I boldly proclaim I am who God says I am
I have what God says I have
I can do what God says I can do
I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus
I’m more than a conqueror through Him that loves me
Victory is mine…I’m victorious in all I do
I’m not disadvantaged, the Spirit within me is my advantage
I do not know how to give up because I always win
I don’t yield to fear for God has not given me the spirit of fear but of love power and sound mind
I am kept by the power of God through faith
My Father God supplies my needs according to His riches by Christ Jesus.
